Preserving Vasa for the future is a long-term project. Because new problems and challenges keep cropping up, research on Vasa continues without interruption. An exhibition on efforts to preserve Vasa is currently in the planning phase. The exhibition will be ready during the spring of 2009.
 
The model of Vasa has been painted and for the first time museum visitors can obtain a sense of the colourful splendour of Vasa and how she probably looked when she embarked on her maiden voyage.
