Terms and conditions for purchase of electronic admission tickets

General

These terms and conditions apply when you as a consumer purchase an electronic admission ticket through the website www.vasamuseet.se. Through the purchase you enter into a binding agreement with Vasamuseet (the Vasa Museum) and you agree to and accept to abide by these terms and conditions.

Your purchase is binding only after you receive a confirmation of your purchase from the Vasa Museum, which will be sent by e-mail. Please save the confirmation for future reference in connection with your purchase. The confirmation sent by e-mail contains the electronic admission ticket and is also a receipt of the completed purchase.

The Vasa Museum does not enter into agreements with minors (under the age of 18) without the consent of a parent or a legal guardian. The Vasa Museum may refuse or change your purchase, for example if you provide incorrect personal information.

The Vasa Museum is part of the public agency Statens maritima och transporthistoriska museer (Swedish National Maritime and Transport Museums).

Electronic admission tickets

The Vasa Museum’s electronic admission ticket is a voucher corresponding to one visit to the Vasa Museum during the validity period. The validity period is limited to 180 days from the date of purchase. Tickets that have not been used during the validity period will not be refunded.

For each purchase a unique QR code is generated. The QR code can only be used for one visit during the electronic admission ticket’s validity period, during the Vasa Museums ordinary opening hours. A single QR code is produced for each purchase, regardless of whether you have purchased tickets for more than one person.

It is not possible to divide or separate a purchased electronic admission ticket. If you have purchased admission tickets for more than one person, you cannot refund or return parts of the ticket. The electronic admission ticket can only be used for entrance to the museum at the same time, for as many people as the admission ticket corresponds to. If you wish to purchase admission tickets to be used for entrance at the same time, you have to make separate purchases.

Take care of your electronic admission ticket. Lost tickets will not be refunded.

The Vasa Museum cannot guarantee that you will be able to use your admission ticket and access the museum at any given time. The number of visitors and queuing time is to a large extent beyond the Vasa Museum’s control. Please check the opening hours, which may vary during the seasons, in advance and allocate sufficient time when planning your visit.

The electronic admission ticket does not give priority access upon entrance to the museum. When a separate entrance for pre-purchased tickets are opened, the electronic admission ticket does give priority access to that entrance.

Force Majeure

Natural disasters, fires, strikes, lock-outs, disturbances in deliveries or any other circumstances beyond the Vasa Museum’s / the Swedish National Maritime and Transport Museums control entitles the museum to cancel any activities without further compensation.

Prices and methods of payment

When purchasing tickets through the website, the ticket prices are stated on the website. The price is in Swedish krona, SEK. Pre-purchased electronic admission tickets are not affected by changes of the entrance price that may occur during the tickets validity period.

The ticket price does not include value-added tax, as museums are excluded from value-added tax.

The following payment methods are accepted by the Vasa Museum:

  • Card payment with Visa, Mastercard or AmericanExpress

The Vasa Museum uses Nets for the processing of card and bank payments. Nets is a payment service that is PCI certified and complies with bank and credit card issuers' high standards for secure payments. All communication between the Vasa Museum/Swedish National Maritime and Transport Museums and your bank is done by Nets. The communication is SSL encrypt (Secure Sockets Layer).

Delivery

The electronic admission ticket will be delivered to the e-mail address you supplied at the time of purchase.

Your responsibility to present a valid ticket

It is your responsibility to present the valid electronic admission ticket (the QR code) upon entrance to the museum.

Right of withdrawal

For electronic admission tickets purchased through the Vasa Museum’s website you have a period of 14 days to withdraw from the purchase. The withdrawal period of 14 days starts from the day you receive the confirmation of purchase from the Vasa Museum.

You do not have to give any reason for your withdrawal, but you must send the Vasa Museum an unequivocal and clear statement setting out your decision to withdraw from the purchase. You can send your statement by e-mail or by ordinary mail. In your statement you must give your name, your e-mail address and the PO number.

You may also use the model withdrawal form as set out in Annex I(B) to the EU directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights and send it to the Vasa Museum:

It is sufficient that you within the withdrawal period send the Vasa Museum a statement that you intend to exercise your right of withdrawal.

Should you exercise your right to withdrawal, the Vasa Museum will reimburse the payment you made. The Vasa Museum will reimburse you without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day which the Vasa Museum received your decision to withdraw from the purchase. The Vasa Museum will reimburse you using the same means of payment used for your initial purchase, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise.

You are not entitled to withdraw from the purchase if you have accepted to the performance of the service within the period of withdrawal. In other words, if you have used your admission ticket during the period of withdrawal you are not entitled to withdraw from the purchase.

You cannot exercise your right to withdrawal for an electronic admission ticket that you have already used in part.

Complaints

If a problem occurs in receiving your electronic ticket, please contact the Vasa Museum via e-mail

We recommend that you contact the Vasa Museum by e-mail, prepaid@smtm.se, if you should feel that your purchase did not meet your expectations. If you want to file a complaint, you must do so within two months from when you noticed, or should have noticed, that the service provided did not meet your expectations.

If you feel that the Vasa Museum does not accommodate your complaint, you have a right to file a complaint with the Swedish Consumer Agency. You can find more information here:
