A research project with the aim to understand Vasa in its widest possible context is on-going since 2003. A number of new studies give knowledge about the ship and artefacts from Vasa.
Studies of the skeletal remains that were found during the excavation of Vasa give us more knowledge of the people who died on board and thereby a deeper understanding of Vasa and her time.
Work to document Vasa is a continuing process. The ship and its collection of objects provide a rich source of knowledge.
The Vasa Museum collections consist of Vasa and all of the objects that were found with the ship. We regard it as a closed find in which all parts are of equal importance to an understanding of the whole.
