On Wednesday 15 July the Vasa Museum opens again with extra precautions in place to protect the public.

About your visit

Opening hours

From 15 July to 31 August, the Vasa Museum and museum shop will be open Monday-Friday between 10:00 and 17:00. The Vasa Museum restaurant will be open on weekdays between 11:00 and 16:00.

Close to the ship but with a safe distance from each other

In order to make your visit as safe and secure as possible the museum has taken several precautions. The number of visitors allowed into the museum will be restricted and small spaces closed off. Seats will be limited in the movie theatre and half of the tables in the lunchroom have been removed. Visitors will be reminded to follow the rules on social distancing with the help of museum staff, floor markings and signs.

Frequent cleaning

Cleaning will take place more frequently and hand sanitiser will be provided.

Your own audioguide

To avoid gatherings there will be no guided tours available at this time. However, there are audioguides in several languages free to download to your own mobile device via the website on Vasamuseet.se/audioguide. The new exhibition Vasa Up Close offers more in-depth material in a special app which can be downloaded.

Card payments

We encourage payments to be made by card rather than cash.
