Welcome to the Vasa Museum! Several things are always included in your ticket. Admission is free for children 0 – 18 years old.

Guided tours

The museum offers daily guided tours around the ship in Swedish and English. The museum tour takes about 25 minutes.

Film

The film about Vasa tells the story of how Vasa was built and how the ship got sunk on August 10 in 1628. The film also shows news footage of the salvage and excavation of the ship and the construction of the museum. The film is about 17 minutes long and is shown throughout the day in several languages.

The Boy and the Ship: a Trip into the Past tells the story of Olof, a young boy in Stockholm in the early 17th century. Join Olof as he tells you his story, based on historical facts and a bit of imagination. Follow the trail, through the museum to find the different stops where Olof awaits you.

The boy and the ship is designed for children aged 8–12 years old accompanied by an adult. This audio guide takes you around the museum in about 35 minutes. Use you phone or tablet with the museum's free wi-fi and choose the language you prefer on our website. Remember to bring your own headphones. The audio guide takes approximately 35 minutes.

Film for the youngest

Follow the spotted piglet Lindbom on an adventure aboard Vasa! The film is based on the book The Vasa piglet by Björn Bergenholtz.

The film is 17 minutes long and is suitable for children from 3 years and up. It is shown in the children's film corner on level 3.

Flora – an audio guide in the Vasa Museum garden

Welcome to the Vasa Museum garden – with roots in the 17th century. Plants that were used for food and drink in the 17th century are grown here, as well as flax that was used for clothing, sails and rope, medicinal herbs and hops for beer production. Welcome to visit the garden and get to know it through our audio guide.

Twelve in-depth exhibitions

Around Vasa on the different floors there are in-depth exhibitions: about life on board, ships in battle, Vasa's sculptures, sailing ships, the preservation of Vasa, the salvage of the ship, the accident and the people who went down with Vasa. Outside the museum there is also an exhibition that is resown every season the Vasa Museum Garden – with roots in the 17th century.

Temporary exhibition

James Cameron – Challenging the Deep is about the renowned filmmaker, marine scientist and technological innovator James Cameron.

Using props from Cameron's feature films, film projections and rare artifacts, visitors can experience Cameron's greatest underwater exploits, both real and fictional.

The exhibition is on loan from the Australian National Maritime Museum and will run until September 2027.
